Server Closure

Hi everyone,

I regret to say that come the next server payment November 2nd, the server will be closing down.

Reason being I have played Minecraft since the very beginning, way back in June 09. I've had a lot of good experiences with Minecraft, especially ever since me and Twittgoo set up the server back in January. :]
We've been through a lot in Pinchcliffe. Built a great community, met great friends, had a very fun experience playing Minecraft together. But I've been slowly losing interest in Minecraft and being server admin for quite some time now.

I'll still see the server through to 1.8 if anyone is going to continue playing. I'll be on every now and then until November, making sure the server is still working etc.

However, if anyone would like to take over, thats definately a possibility! These are the options:

Someone can take over the server as it is now, with Multiplay, and the monthly bill of £35/$56/€40
or
I can give someone access to the server FTP, and they can download all the files the server needs via that, and continue running it from their own PC.

Really trying to leave on a good note, but feel free to hate me if you feel neccessary! :þ

How would we be able to take over the server FTP? And how would it be worse than paying for the server?

All you'd need is to download Filezilla, CuteFTP or any other FTP program, and log in with the right credentials, and there lie all the server files.
Its worse because it would probably be laggier than having it hosted at multiplay, and all plugins would need to be updated manually, instead of the odd 3 or 4 that had to be manually updated in the past.
However it does save costs.

Even though I could afford pay for the monthly bill, I don't have any way to pay with...
Anyway, it's been such a great experience, all the new friends I've made etc...
I'm hoping people will play until the very end! Smile

Yeah, mine craft has been getting quite old, has it not?

But still, there is communicating with each other. We are all now pretty good friends, so why not add each other on a social app?
You could use Facebook (you can find me as Uda Kento, and I have the creepy girl and dude as my avatar (anime lol) so find me!)
