| Hey folks, If you're wondering why the server is down right now, sort of bad news. Which I'm working on but I dunno, I might not be able to do anything about it. What seems to have happened, is the server crashed at some point, corrupting our world. It started throwing out the following error message repeatadly: - Spoiler:
04:57:13 [SEVERE] at java.util.zip.GZIPInputStream.readHeader(Unknown Sour ce) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at java.util.zip.GZIPInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at java.util.zip.GZIPInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.NBTCompressedStreamTools.a(Sourc eFile:9) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.WorldLoader.b(SourceFile:52) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.WorldLoaderServer.isConvertable( SourceFile:82) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.a(MinecraftServe r.java:221) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.init(MinecraftSe rver.java:187) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftSer ver.java:425) 04:57:13 [SEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.ThreadServerApplication.run(Sour ceFile:490)
No idea what the hell it meant, except there was some GZIP error and our server was having trouble loading the world -- I searched around. Found a program called RegionFixer, loaded the world up in that with command prompt and it scanned the world for corruptions. Here was the result: - Spoiler:
Welcome to Region Fixer! Scanning directory... Info: No nether dimension in the world directory. There are 6 region files and 23 player files in the world directory. #################### Scanning level.dat #################### [WARNING!]: 'level.dat' is corrupted with the following error/s: Not a gzipped file ################## Scanning player files ################### All player files are readable. ################## Scanning region files ################### Scanned r.-1.0.mcr (c: 0, w: 0, t: 981).................................... .... 1/6 Scanned r.-1.1.mcr (c: 0, w: 0, t: 934).................................... .... 2/6 Scanned r.-2.0.mcr (c: 0, w: 0, t: 2)...................................... .... 3/6 Scanned r.-2.1.mcr (c: 0, w: 0, t: 24)..................................... .... 4/6 Scanned r.0.0.mcr (c: 0, w: 0, t: 876).................................... .... 5/6 Scanned r.0.1.mcr (c: 0, w: 0, t: 661).................................... .... 6/6 Found 0 corrupted and 0 wrong located chunks of a total of 3478

| I've restored the last world backup we had, which was from 8 days ago.
Still trying to find a way to fix the world, but I doubt its going to be possible.
Server up and running atm with the old world.

| My connection keeps timing out, and the multiplayer server screen polls this server as not available. :/ | |

| Don't delete the file! From the error log it looks like region fixer hasn't been updated for 1.2 yet. There was a new map format released called Anvil. Get the vanilla server software and then load that up using the map file and that should smooth things out. | |

But the server still isn't working? It needs a restart, other than that it's fine :silent:
